Government Sets October 1 Joining Date for Over 14,000 Primary Teachers
More than 14,000 new government primary school assistant teachers will join their posts on October 1, 2026. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education announced this on Sunday, August 2. This official notice gives a specific date for candidates selected under the Government Primary School Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025.
Successful candidates must report to their respective District Primary Education Office. Appointment letters will be issued to them soon. After joining, these new teachers will be assigned to different schools. They will also receive important professional training. The School-2 Branch of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education released this information.
Earlier, on Saturday, August 1, the Ministry had given a different plan. It said over 14,000 primary teachers would join on October 29. Primary and Mass Education Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain spoke after an emergency virtual meeting. He said the government sees the joining process for these assistant teachers as a top priority. Secretary Hossain explained that earlier delays were due to investigations and official procedures.
Meanwhile, candidates are continuing their protest in the capital today, Sunday. They received final recommendations for assistant teacher positions. They demand immediate joining and school postings. The protest is happening in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh. Many recommended candidates have gathered there.
The protesting candidates issued a statement on Saturday evening. They want their joining and postings completed within August. They say this follows the official recruitment rules. They also demand that the government publish a formal notification. This official order must include a specific joining date on the government website.
The candidates clearly stated they will not accept verbal assurances. They also said they would not rely on statements made only through the media. They plan to continue their announced indefinite protest. They will keep protesting until all their demands are met. The government’s new announcement sets the official joining date for October 1.
