PM Adviser Calls Shakib Al Hasan ‘Rotten Person’, Assures Security for Returning Leaders

Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman has strongly criticized cricketer and former Member of Parliament Shakib Al Hasan. Mr. Rahman called Shakib Al Hasan a “rotten person.” He made these remarks during a press conference held today, Tuesday, at the Secretariat.

The adviser was briefing journalists on the government’s recent activities. Mr. Rahman stated that Shakib Al Hasan may be a good player. However, he described him as a “rotten person” due to his past and current alignment with Sheikh Hasina.

Mr. Rahman assured that if Shakib Al Hasan returns to Bangladesh, he will receive full security. He will also face any allegations against him through due legal process. The government will ensure his rights are protected.

The information adviser also spoke about ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is currently in India. Mr. Rahman said Sheikh Hasina will be given full security if she returns to the country. She reportedly said she would return in December.

Mr. Rahman promised that Sheikh Hasina would be brought before the judicial process. All her civil and constitutional rights will be ensured. He stressed that everyone must accept the court’s decision in her case.

The adviser further stated that Bangladesh does not want to see a “mafia regime” like Sheikh Hasina’s again. He said the government would not allow such a “fascist mafia regime” in the future. He emphasized that Bangladesh is a democratic state.

Mr. Rahman reaffirmed that all individuals, including Shakib Al Hasan and Sheikh Hasina, will have their rights ensured. This applies even to those accused of the most serious crimes. Chief Information Officer Syed Abdal Ahmed also attended the press conference.
