Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Promises Full Support for Foreign Investors
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today assured foreign investors of the government’s full support. He stated that Bangladesh is ready to help new businesses. The Prime Minister promised a very good environment for investment. Mr. Rahman highlighted Bangladesh’s current favorable conditions for investment. He said the government will provide all necessary assistance to foreign investors.
The Prime Minister made these comments during a meeting today. He met with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham). The meeting took place at the Cabinet Division meeting room. This room is located at the Bangladesh Secretariat. Gazi Shahriar Pami, the Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary, shared this information.
An eight-member AmCham delegation met with the Prime Minister. Syed Mohammad Kamal led the delegation. Mr. Kamal is the president of AmCham. He is also a Vice President at Mastercard.
During the meeting, AmCham representatives spoke about their work. They informed the Prime Minister that their new committee started two months ago. The committee is working to bring more US investment to Bangladesh. They also aim to strengthen business ties between the two countries.
Several key officials were present at the meeting. These included Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir. Rehan Asif Asad, the Prime Minister’s adviser, was also there. Mr. Asad advises on Posts, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Science, and Technology. Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, the Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), also attended.
