Star Batsman Litton Das Cleared for Historic Australia Test

Bangladesh’s star wicketkeeper-batsman, Litton Das, is ready to play. He has fully recovered from a calf injury. Litton will feature in the first Test match against Australia. The game begins on Thursday in Darwin.

This news brings relief to Bangladesh cricket fans. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto confirmed Litton’s fitness. The captain said Litton is “100 per cent fit.” Litton completed all his batting and wicketkeeping drills. He practiced at Marrara Stadium on Wednesday.

Litton Das is Bangladesh’s top scorer over the past five years. He will bat at number five or six in the lineup. His return strengthens the team’s batting order.

Captain Shanto also spoke about the bowling attack. Bangladesh will decide their final bowlers on Thursday morning. The team may choose to include a second spinner. Shanto suggested a “normal combination” of two spinners and three seamers. He noted that the pitch in Darwin looks good for play.

This is a special tour for Bangladesh. It is their first Test match in Australia since 2003. The team aims to perform well after a long gap.

Concerns were raised after a recent practice match. Bangladesh was bowled out for only 54 runs. They played against a Cricket Australia XI. Captain Shanto dismissed this poor performance. He called it simply a “bad day” for the team.

Shanto said the team had prepared very well otherwise. He acknowledged Australia has a “world-class bowling attack.” However, Shanto views the series as a great chance. He believes it is a good opportunity for Bangladesh to challenge a strong opponent.
