Dominican Republic Teacher Joheirry Mola Crowned Miss World 2026
Joheirry Mola, from the Dominican Republic, has won the Miss World 2026 title. The final event happened in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She was chosen as the winner from 111 contestants worldwide.
Joheirry Mola is a multi-talented woman. She works as a teacher, journalist, social worker, and model. She leads an important project called ‘Voice of Tomorrow’. This project teaches English to children and young people who need help. It also helps them gain confidence and useful skills for their future.
Before winning Miss World, Joheirry Mola won Miss World Dominican Republic 2025. This victory allowed her to represent her country on the international stage.
Elisabeth Reynés from Spain was named the first runner-up. Taanusiya Chetty from Malaysia became the second runner-up.
The competition began with 111 participants. Judges first announced the top 40 contestants. Then, they selected the top 20, followed by the top 12. Finally, six finalists were chosen. These six women answered questions from the judges before the winner was announced.
Miss World is the oldest international beauty pageant. Eric Morley started it in the United Kingdom in 1951. Contestants are judged through various challenges. They also have private interviews and perform in live shows.
This year, the Miss World pageant was held in Vietnam. Some countries joined for the first time. These included French Guiana, Eritrea, Mozambique, Pakistan, and the Maldives. However, three contestants withdrew from the competition. They were from Ecuador, Armenia, and Togo.
Bangladesh also had a contestant, Samanzar Sayeed. She did very well in one part of the competition. She reached the top six in the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ segment for her region. However, she did not advance to the final top 40.
The 111 contestants were divided into four main groups. These groups represented Africa, the Americas and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania.
