Comilla Teen’s Murder Solved: All Suspects Arrested Rapidly
Police have arrested everyone involved in the tragic murder of 13-year-old Ishayat Shahriar Apratim in Comilla. Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed confirmed this news on Sunday. The minister said all arrests were made within 12 hours of the incident.
Mr. Ahmed praised the police for their quick actions. He said they recovered all important evidence very fast. The Home Minister also promised a quick investigation report for Apratim’s case. This will be similar to another recent high-profile case in Dhaka.
Apratim was the only son of Nahida Begum, a professor at Comilla University. His father is KM Firoz Shahriar. Apratim left his home on Friday afternoon. He told his family he would take photos with friends using his mother’s iPhone. He then went missing.
Police found Apratim’s body nearly 22 hours later. It was in a forest in the Lalmai hills, near Comilla University. The suspects were arrested within 12 hours of the body being found. They have confessed to their involvement in the crime.
The Home Minister said the people involved were similar to juvenile offenders. They were five to ten years older than Apratim. Police recovered Apratim’s mobile phone and other evidence. Forensic analysis is now continuing. A post-mortem was completed, and Apratim has been buried.
Mr. Ahmed spoke about wider issues. He said social problems have been growing for many years. He linked drugs and gambling to many crimes. The minister asked people to help solve these problems. He also said that schools should focus more on sports and cultural activities. This would help children become good members of society.
Apratim was a Class Seven student at Border Guard Public School. He lived with his parents in the Kotbari area of Comilla.
