New Vending Machines Bring Essential Health Products to Thousands of Girls in Bangladesh

Thousands of young women in Bangladesh are now getting easier access to important health products. Fresh Anonna, a brand from Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), is putting sanitary napkin vending machines in madrasahs. This new project helps female students buy sanitary napkins easily when they need them.

The program started in March this year. It lets female students buy sanitary napkins at a low price. This makes sure they have access to these products whenever they need them.

Along with the machines, awareness sessions are also held. Medical experts lead these sessions at each school. They teach about good menstrual hygiene and personal cleanliness. They also correct wrong ideas about periods.

So far, seven madrasahs have received these vending machines. This helps thousands of female students. Fresh Anonna plans to put machines in more schools and workplaces. This expansion will happen in the coming months.

Barrister Tasnim Mostafa is a director at Meghna Group of Industries. She spoke about the project. She said it aims to make sanitary napkins easy to get. It also creates a safe place for female students during their periods. Barrister Mostafa added that menstruation is a natural process. Keeping girls healthy and confident requires awareness and easy access to products.

The machines are now in several madrasahs. These include Madinatul Ulum Model Institute Women’s Kamil Madrasah and Darunnazat Siddikia Kamil Madrasah. Al Faruk Girls Dakhil Madrasah and Serajnagar Ummul Qura Madrasah also have them. Adarsha Islami Mission Mohila Kamil Madrasah and Nibras Madrasah are also part of this project. Barrister Mostafa stated Fresh Anonna will keep working to improve access and raise awareness nationwide.
