Noakhali Teacher Arrested After Child Rape Allegation
Police have arrested a madrasah teacher in Noakhali’s Sadar upazila. He faces a serious allegation of raping a young girl. The incident led to community action before police involvement.
The arrested teacher is Mobarak Hossain, 45. He is also known as Emran. Mobarak Hossain teaches at a local ebtedayee madrasah. The girl who made the allegation is a Class-V student at the same madrasah.
She also took private tuition from Mobarak Hossain at his home. This happened before the alleged rape.
Over several months, the girl became very distressed. She lost interest in her studies. She later told a family member about the alleged rape.
When the news spread, local residents reacted strongly. They caught Mobarak Hossain on Tuesday evening. They beat him and then handed him over to the police.
Police took the injured teacher to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. He received medical treatment there.
The girl’s mother filed a police case. She filed it at Sudharam police station. The case is under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Police will officially arrest Mobarak Hossain in connection with this case. He will then be presented before a court on Wednesday.
Sudharam police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Nazrul Islam spoke about the incident. He told reporters that early information suggests the girl was raped. This happened while she was receiving private tuition from Mobarak Hossain.
OC Islam also said the girl would be sent for a medical examination. This will take place at Noakhali General Hospital.
