Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Seeks Global Job Boost for Youth
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman called for a new system on Saturday. This system will set one standard for skills training. It will help young people in Bangladesh find jobs. These jobs can be in Bangladesh or in other countries. The Prime Minister wants this system to be internationally accepted. This will make Bangladeshi youth more competitive.
He shared these ideas while leading a meeting. It was the third meeting of the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA). The meeting took place at his office in Tejgaon. The Prime Minister said NSDA is important. It helps develop skilled workers. This meets the needs of job markets at home and worldwide.
Mr. Rahman noted a problem. Many different government ministries offer training. But these programs do not work together well. Because of this, the training and certificates are often not effective. Young people do not get proper recognition for their skills. This happens both in Bangladesh and abroad.
The Prime Minister gave clear instructions to the NSDA. He asked them to form a small committee. This committee should create new policies quickly. These policies will bring all skills training under one plan. He also said that all training should use a common syllabus. This will ensure consistent learning.
The meeting also discussed NSDA’s structure and duties. Members talked about national policies for skills development. They looked at how to create skilled workers for different job demands. They also spoke about improving the quality of training. Better certificates and their acceptance were also key topics.
Important officials attended the meeting. Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury was there. Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon also participated. Other ministers and senior advisors were present. They included Expatriates’ Welfare Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury. Many government secretaries also joined the discussion.
