Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia Plan Stronger Economic Future
On Thursday, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Humaiun Kobir, held a meeting in Jeddah. He met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. This important discussion happened during the 23rd OIC Extraordinary Council of Foreign Ministers meeting. The two ministers talked about improving relations and cooperation.
State Minister Kobir handed over a special letter from Bangladesh’s Prime Minister. The letter was addressed to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the positive growth in Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia relations. They committed to lifting their partnership to a new and higher level.
Mr. Kobir highlighted that many high-level visits have recently taken place between the two countries. Such exchanges have created fresh opportunities for broad cooperation across various important sectors.
He also mentioned that more high-level visits are expected soon. These future visits will help strengthen ties further.
Prince Faisal stated that Bangladesh is one of Saudi Arabia’s priority countries. He emphasized the great importance of strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations.
The Saudi Foreign Minister observed a growing interest from Saudi companies in Bangladesh. He expressed his desire to expand investment and business engagement even further.
Prince Faisal also highly commended the valuable contribution of Bangladeshi expatriates. He recognized their role in the development and progress of the Kingdom.
State Minister Humaiun Kobir took the opportunity to invite Prince Faisal to visit Bangladesh. He asked the Saudi Foreign Minister to come at his earliest convenience. A visit would further strengthen the deep ties.
Several key officials were also present at the meeting. These included Saudi Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eng. Waleed Abdulkarim El-Khereiji. Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the OIC, along with senior officials from both sides, also attended. The meeting aimed to pave the way for continued friendly relations and shared economic benefits.
