Jared Leto Denies New Sexual Misconduct Claims in BBC Documentary
US actor and singer Jared Leto has strongly denied new accusations of sexual assault and harassment. Ten women have made these serious claims against him. The allegations are featured in a new BBC documentary. These events reportedly took place over many years, between 2002 and 2016.
Two women accuse Leto of sexual assault. They said this happened when they were 17 years old. Another woman stated that the actor threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. A fourth woman reported receiving many sexually explicit phone calls from Leto. She was just 16 years old at the time. He allegedly asked her for sex during these calls.
Four more women described sexual harassment during phone calls. Leto is also famous as the lead singer of the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars. The 54-year-old actor released a strong statement about the claims made in the documentary.
Leto said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life.” He added very clearly, “These claims are absolutely and categorically false.” He firmly stated that all the accusations are completely untrue and without basis.
Nine of the ten women are sharing their personal stories for the first time. Their experiences form a central part of the BBC documentary. The film is specifically titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret.”
Leto is a highly recognized actor in Hollywood. He won an Oscar in 2014 for Best Supporting Actor. This prestigious award was for his memorable role in the film “Dallas Buyers Club.”
The actor has faced similar accusations in the past. In an earlier investigation, a US digital magazine called Air Mail published claims from several other women. Leto also denied any wrong behavior or inappropriate conduct at that time. He continues to deny all accusations of sexual misconduct made against him.
