Over 650 New Lecturers Prepare for Bangladesh Public Service
A large group of 651 new lecturers is ready to begin their careers in Bangladesh’s public service. The Ministry of Education has released details about their joining process and initial training. These appointments are for the General Education cadre of the Bangladesh Civil Service.
New lecturers must report in person on October 12. They will meet the Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division. The joining venue is the Rural Development Academy (RDA) in Bogura. They must submit their joining letters there.
Following this, the new recruits will attend an eight-day orientation program. This program is residential and will run at the academy from October 12 to October 19. It will help them prepare for their new roles.
These 651 lecturers were selected through the 49th (Special) Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination. The government announced 611 appointments on September 30. Another 40 appointments followed on October 5.
Their jobs will follow existing government rules. They will receive a salary according to the National Pay Scale 2026. This pay scale ranges from Tk 44,000 to Tk 105,900.
The new lecturers must complete basic training first. This training will happen at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre. Or it could be at another government-approved institution. After that, they will get special professional training at their workplaces.
Each lecturer will serve a two-year probation period. The government can extend this period by up to two more years. If a lecturer is found unsuitable during probation, they may lose their job. This can happen without further notice or asking the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.
At the time of joining, each person must submit a special bond. This bond is printed on a Tk 300 non-judicial stamp. It is a promise that they will not accept or give dowry. This applies to them and their family members.
The Ministry has made it clear that joining on time is very important. If a candidate fails to join on the set date, their appointment will be canceled. It will be assumed that they have refused the job.
