Unprecedented Spectacle: World Cup Final Set to Dazzle Beyond the Pitch

The upcoming World Cup final between Argentina and Spain is poised to be much more than a football match. Set to unfold at the New York–New Jersey Stadium, this year’s climax of the tournament will feature groundbreaking entertainment and new traditions never before seen in its 96-year history.

The grand event kicks off with a spectacular closing ceremony at 1:30 pm local time, approximately 90 minutes before the game begins. Academy Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson will perform the United States national anthem. Following her, a lineup of global music stars including Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, and popular YouTuber IShowSpeed will take the stage. Hollywood icon Tom Cruise is also expected to make a special appearance during the pre-game festivities.

For the first time ever, the FIFA World Cup final will host a Super Bowl-style halftime show. This 11-minute performance will feature an array of music legends, including Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber, and South Korean pop sensation BTS. Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, will oversee the production of this historic segment.

This extended entertainment means the halftime break will stretch beyond the usual 15 minutes. With time needed for stage setup and dismantling, the interval is expected to last between 20 to 25 minutes, and possibly longer. This change deviates from the International Football Association Board’s (IFAB) rules, which stipulate a maximum 15-minute halftime. Players may need an additional warm-up before resuming the second half.

After the final whistle, the United States President, Donald Trump, will join FIFA President Gianni Infantino to present the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy. This crowning moment will be celebrated with a dazzling display of fireworks, confetti, and a spectacular light show for the new world champions.

Adding to the historical significance, FIFA has introduced Championship Rings for World Cup winners for the first time. All 30 members of the victorious squad will receive a commemorative ring. The captain and head coach will also be presented with symbolic rings during the trophy ceremony, with individually sized rings custom-made and delivered to every team member later.

Beyond the glory and new accolades, the winning team will take home a substantial US$50 million in prize money, equivalent to approximately Tk 6.15 billion. This financial reward, along with the trophy, medals, and individual awards, underscores the immense stakes of the final.

Overall, the FIFA World Cup final promises an unparalleled blend of elite football, world-class entertainment, and historic celebrations for a global audience of hundreds of millions.
