Ambassador Christensen first went to Parbatipur. He toured the Central Locomotive Workshop of Bangladesh Railway. Skilled Bangladeshi technicians maintain American-made locomotives at this site. These powerful engines are crucial for moving passengers and goods across the country.

At the workshop, the Ambassador saw a modern locomotive. It was manufactured by the US company Progress Rail. He also met many dedicated Bangladeshi railway professionals. Their expertise ensures the locomotives operate effectively every day.

Following his visit to Parbatipur, Ambassador Christensen traveled by train to Saidpur. He spoke directly with passengers during this journey. In Saidpur, he also visited the historic Saidpur Railway Workshop. He explored the railway museum there, learning about its rich past.

The US Embassy in Dhaka shared details about the Ambassador’s trip. The Embassy sent a press release to news outlets on Tuesday. US Mission spokesperson Poornima Rai provided this information.

Bangladesh Railway previously bought 40 locomotives from Progress Rail. This purchase demonstrates how US technology helps Bangladesh develop its infrastructure. These modern engines contribute to better transportation services nationwide. They strengthen Bangladesh’s railway system.
