Pilgrimage Costs Revealed: Government Announces 2027 Hajj Packages
Pilgrims preparing for the sacred Hajj journey in 2027 now have a clear understanding of the costs involved. The government recently announced two official packages for state-managed travelers, with prices ranging from Tk 5,05,648 to Tk 6,15,263.
Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain shared these details during a press briefing at the Secretariat. He also outlined a standard package cost of Tk 5,13,648 for those traveling through private Hajj agencies.
The most comprehensive government package, priced at Tk 6,15,263, offers accommodation within 1,000 to 1,400 meters of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah. Pilgrims will stay in Madinah’s Markazia area and use Zone-2 tents in Mina. Services and meals in Mina and Arafat will be provided under Service Package-3. The expected stay in Saudi Arabia for this option is between 35 and 40 days.
For a more economical government option, set at Tk 5,05,648, pilgrims will be accommodated two to three kilometers from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah. In Madinah, lodging will be within 800 meters of Masjid an-Nabawi, outside the main Markazia area. Mina tents will be in Zone-5, and shuttle buses will be available if hotels are more than two kilometers from the Grand Mosque.
Private Hajj agencies will offer a standard package at Tk 5,13,648. Under this arrangement, accommodation in Makkah must be within three kilometers of Masjid al-Haram and within one kilometer of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. A maximum of six pilgrims will share each room, and tents in Mina will be in Zone-5, with Service Package-3 for meals and services. Shuttle bus services will be mandatory for hotels located over two kilometers from the Grand Mosque.
A significant reduction in airfare has been confirmed for the 2027 Hajj. The cost of air travel has been lowered by Tk 24,830 from the previous year, bringing it to Tk 1,30,000. This follows earlier reductions from nearly Tk 2,00,000 in 2023 to Tk 1,67,820 in 2025.
The minister noted that this reduction is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring an affordable, accessible, and humane Hajj management system, aligning with pledges made in its election manifesto.
